You know you want professional portraits, but where do you start, and how are the final portraits going to be used? At Danielle Pease Photography, we (meaning you and me) begin the process with the end in mind. That means, before I ever pick up the camera, we have a plan for where and how these portraits will hang in your home or the story they will tell in your custom designed album.
To start, pick the place in your home you would like to see these photos. Is it the large wall in your kitchen where you spend most of your time? Is it the stairwell you walk up every evening at the end of another day? Is it the long entry hall that your family sees every time they walk through the front door? The portraits may be part of a family gallery wall that already exists or one you are just starting. Maybe you have a set of shelves in the living room where you would like to display a luxurious, custom-designed album. The one that everyone pulls out to remember and talk about at at the holidays. Let's create those images that will bring you joy every time you look at them. Your unique style and needs will guide our one on one Design Consultation.
DESIGN CONSULTATION
This is where we learn more about each other and share ideas about the photographs and display. This is important whether we are designing an 11x14 framed print or a 40" x 60" canvas on the living room wall. I want to know all about everyone's unique personality, and all of your questions will be answered, such as:
-What types of clothing are best?
-How much does all of this cost?
-Where are the best places in your home to display family portraits?
-Can I bring my dog? (Yes!)
The Design Consultation can take place in your home, at my studio or on zoom.
WARDROBE COLLAB
You'll leave your Design Consultation with a good idea of what everyone should wear, and a checklist of things to remember to prepare for the Photo Shoot. Between the consult and the shoot, I am available to consult about your questions or outfits via phone, email or zoom meeting. One week prior to your Photo Shoot, we will finalize outfits to allow plenty of time for last minute changes, ironing, and dry cleaning.
PHOTO SHOOT
If you've been photographed in the past, it may not have been the most relaxing experience. If you've never been photographed, you may be uncomfortable with the unknown. Not to worry! On photo day, the most important thing you can do is relax. Take your time. Get everyone dressed and to the location, and I will handle the rest! We are going to have a plan and also go-with-the-flow. The word of the day is FUN.
VIEW & ORDER APPOINTMENT
Approximately one week after your photo shoot, you will come to the studio for your View and Order appointment.
Your View and Order appointment is the time set aside to finalize your portrait order, so be sure and schedule a time when all the decision makers can be there.
We will use computer software to view your portraits. I will create groupings for the wall, or album pages, based on the ideas we discussed in the Design Consultation. I will guide you through every step of the way using your goals from the consultation to achieve your vision for your family portraits.
DELIVERY
Your portraits will be delivered to your home approximately 6 - 8 weeks after your order has been placed.
TAKE ALL THE CREDIT
The hard work is over. Your portraits adorn the walls of your home. Your family album has a place of pride on your coffee table and you are receiving comment after comment about your beautiful portraits and holiday cards. Sit back and take credit for creating those beautiful humans that are your children and enjoy seeing the people you love on the walls of your home. Every. Single. Day.
THE LONG TERM PLAN
You're thrilled that your portraits are hung on the wall and your album is on display, but we both know that your family will keep changing and growing, so what about next year, and the year after that? We can create a vision for future sessions based on the stages of your family AND the design vision of your home. Do you have children going off to college? Fiftieth Wedding Anniversaries? Your first grandchild? Before you know it, the walls of your home will be filled with the history of your family.
