I don’t know what it is about Polaroids, but they always remind me of summer, family vacations, and going to the Jersey shore. I like everything about them. I like that they were instant, in a time when nothing was instant. I like the shape of the image as it whirled out of the camera, and I especially like that there was a perfect place to add words to go with the image. I was playing with recreating that feeling in Photoshop with digital images when my husband’s Uncle gave me a Polaroid ProCam he discovered at a yard sale! I researched it, and found that there is a company that actually makes film for these cameras. You can find them at https://www.the-impossible-project.com. They are passionate people! If you love film, the history of photography, or just interesting photography in general, check them out. For now, this is just a fun play toy for me that reminds me how magical photography is. I’m not sure how I’m going to use it yet….but I do have a family vacation to the Jersey shore coming up! Do you have a favorite Polaroid image from your past? Snap a photo of it and tell me about it in the comments below. I would love to connect with you!
